How Cancer Research Trust New Zealand (registered charity CC23672) collects, uses and protects personal information through this website.
Last updated 21 October 2026
What we collect
Your name and contact details, your donations and receipts, messages and applications you send us, and your email preferences. The website also records how it is used, such as the pages visited and the type of device.
How we use it
To process donations and send receipts, answer enquiries, assess and manage grant applications, send the updates you have asked for, keep financial records and improve the website. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
Health information
Our forms are not designed to collect health information, but you may choose to tell us about cancer or other personal circumstances. We use it only for the reason you shared it, and only the people who need it can see it. Please do not use this website for medical advice; contact a health professional instead.
Payments
Online donations are processed by specialist payment providers. Your full card details go to them, not to us, and we never store them.
Analytics, adverts and spam protection
We use Google Analytics to count visits, and the Meta pixel so that our Facebook and Instagram adverts can reach people who have visited the site. Neither sees what you enter in the donation form. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam.
You can limit this tracking in your browser settings, with Google's opt-out and in your Facebook ad preferences.
Who we share it with
Our staff and contractors, professional advisers, the providers that help us run the Trust (such as payment, email and website services), research institutions and grant assessors where relevant to funding, and government agencies where the law requires it. We share only what each of them needs.
Storage and security
Some of our providers store information outside New Zealand. When they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law. We keep personal information secure, and only for as long as we need it, including to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights and questions
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Get in touch through our contact form. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
